Future Biogas Community Funding 2023

In all, the sites have contributed £55,000 towards initiatives that local resident groups and projects have nominated as important to their area via application.

Many of the projects reflect ongoing issues that the country is facing. For example, we have funded a number of projects that mitigate against the cost-of-living crisis. These include food bank initiatives and efforts to reduce bills and increase the sustainability of local buildings through energy efficiency improvements.

It is also pleasing to be involved with a growing number of biodiversity projects, because of how closely this links with Future Biogas’ values of enhancing biodiversity in our own operations.

We have and will continue to visit as many of the projects as possible to see the impact these initiatives are having in person.

In 2024 the community fund scheme will open again, so if you are local to any of the sites and aware of any groups that may be interested in applying, please contact us so we can make them aware of the opportunity.

Below is a brief summary of the schemes being funded this year.

• Cuckney & Norton Parish Council – Annual donation to local council

• Welbeck Colliery Miners Welfare – Annual donation to local trust very close to site

• Heritage House Care Home – Funding towards arm chair exercise sessions for dementia patients

• South Creake Dimentia Support Group – To resource approximately 20 group ‘meet & support’ sessions to contribute to reducing social isolation and treating those in early stage dementia

• Burnham Thorpe Bowls Club – Towards the installation of a disabled access ramp for the bowls club. The club has many elderly members who use the club for company and exercise

• Wells Community Hospital Trust – Summer holiday drop in food bank and trust for families with young children where nutritional food is subsidised

• South Creake Parish Council – Refurbishment of park equipment so they are usable for families once again

• North Creake Parish Council – For outdoor gym equipment that is for public use

• 1st Feltwell Brownies – Funding towards resources, trips and fees. The overall funding reduces costs for families.

• Feltwell Karate Club – Sponsorship and funding towards equipment for the club.

• Food Pantry Feltwell – Funding towards resources and bills of the food bank to combat the cost of living crisis.

• Feltwell in Bloom – Further funding towards equipment and the local wildflower planting project to increase local biodiversity

• St Mary’s Church Feltwell – Funding towards a large project to improve the toilet, water and drainage facilities in the church. The church plays host to a number of village groups and events, as well as the Feltwell Food Bank that is also a acommunity fund recipient

• Feltwell Parish Council – Funding towards a park bench made form 100% recycled plastic

• Spridlington Village Hall Committee – Insulation of kitchen and serving area to reduce energy bills and improve the energy rating of the building

• Scampton Church and RAF War Graves Heritage Centre – Installation of LED lighting system to reduce energy bills and improve the energy rating of the building. Additionally, this would be a contribution towards protecting local heritage

• North Lincs Aviation Centre – To erect a second wartime wooden hut for education purposes and to preserve local heritage

• Hibaldstow Mother & Toddler Group – Funding for equipment to be used in the village hall for mother/toddler sessions

• Waddingham Village Hall – Improvements to the energy efficiency of the building

• Scawby Parish Council – Funding towards a local wildflower planting project to increase biodiversity

• Redbourne St Andrew Church – Funding towards the church clock tower repair, which acts as a central point for the village with the church used my many in the community

• Hibaldstow Village Voice – Annual sponsorship of the local magazine

• Hibaldstow Players – Funding towards the newly formed local theatre group

• Rotary Club of Brigg – Annual funding towards the club who make Xmas hampers for low income families in the local area

• 46th Hatfield Guides – Continued support to help combat increasing costs whilst still allowing involvement in the club

• 47th Hatfield Brownies – Towards craft suppliers for the group

• Friends of Quarry Park – Local tree planting project to increase biodiversity and improve the park in general

• Hatfield Games Club – Funding towards indoor curling equipment to increase social inclusion

• Hatfield Community Library – Setting up of a weekly games night aimed at socially isolated individuals in the area. Combines well with the game club as resources will be shared

• Hatfield Village Hall & Old People’s Centre – Energy saving upgrades to the hall

• Redhouse Park Residents Association Funding towards a professional standard ladder and PA system to assist with resident projects

• Hatfield Town Cricket Club – Hatfield Town Cricket Club £2,350 Contribution towards kit and new changing room for female players

• Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance – Funding towards a charity golf day to raise money for Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance, who do not receive any government of NHS funding

• Metheringham Village Hall – Building improvements to the village hall such as wifi, flooring and windows

• Metheringham Swimming Pool – Funding towards heating costs to allow the community swimming pool to open

• Metheringham PC – Funding towards two local defibs for community use in the case of an emergency
